Lancer has an enviable reputation of supplying high quality inflatable rubber boats and structures. It is the largest such manufacturer in either Australia or New Zealand.

The first inflatable boat manufacturer in the world to introduce a 10 year warranty on materials and workmanship, the name "Lancer" has long been equated with the highest standards of quality.

In 1986, Lancer adopted the internationally recognised Australian Quality Assurance Programme, AS1822, to support its worldwide reputation. It became the first company outside Europe to obtain the International Maritime Organisation's Safety of Life at Sea certification in 1989 to produce inflated rescue boats.

When New Zealand adopted the International Standard's Organisation ISO - 9002 Quality Assurance Accreditation scheme in 1992, Lancer became the first New Zealand marine manufacturer to be so-approved (Certificate No. 137).

In 1992, Lancer won the largest marine order in New Zealand history to supply the US Coast Guard with 63 100-tonne oil recovery barges. The order was achieved after a rigourous inspection by US Coast Guard officials of Lancer's plant and project management capabilities. The audit endorsed Lancer's quality assurance system.
